MEDICAL CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH LESIONS OF THE ORAL MUCOSA ON THE BACKGROUND OF AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE (literature review)

Abstract

Introduction. The development of dental diseases is usually the result of the development of pathological processes occurring in the human body.When the immune system is weakened, the impact of external factors increases and leads to the formation of problem areas. The reasons may be different. Symptoms appear on the tongue, lips and gums, and clinical diagnosis using specialized equipment can help determine the cause of the problem.
The purpose of the study. A study of the issue of providing medical care to patients with lesions of the oral mucosa against the background of an infectious disease, based on an analysis of the quality of medical care and innovative activity.
Material and methods. Analysis of full-text sources was carried out in the databases Google Scholar, The Cochrane library, Web of Science, Pud Med. The search depth was 10 years from 2012 to 2022. We have included studies for patients with lesions of the oral mucosa against the background of an infectious disease. As a result of the search, we identified only 87 foreign and domestic publications, of which this review included 36 publications. Inclusion criteria: full versions of randomized and cohort studies, reports, dissertations, protocols. Criteria for specificity: abstracts, articles, scientific publications describing one case, summaries of reports.
Results. Despite the undoubted successes achieved in the fight against infectious diseases, the importance of the infectious factor in the overall structure of the disease is not only decreasing, but also reflects an upward trend.
Discussion of the results. Against the background of an acute infectious disease, viral, bacterial, fungal infections may occur and progress. In the acute phase, a change in the oral mucosa may be one of the symptoms of diseases that occur in the patient's body.
Conclusions. Joint monitoring of patients with infectious diseases by a dentist, an infectious disease specialist, a pediatrician, a general practitioner makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of treatment of patients.
