Abstract

Menopause syndrome is a pathological condition that occurs in women in the climacteric period and is characterized by neuropsychic, vegetative-vascular and metabolic-trophic disorders against the background of the extinction of reproductive functions. These changes significantly affect the overall health and quality of life of women, which requires the involvement of a multidisciplinary team of medical specialists.
Goal. Determination of the clinical efficacy of a herbal preparation containing a special standardized extract of cimicifuge rhizomes (BNO 1055) in the complex treatment of hypertension and clinical symptoms in the early postmenopausal period.
Materials and methods. Presented as the results of experimental and clinical evaluation of observation of 32 women (including those with arterial hypertension) for 12 weeks in an outpatient setting.
Results and discussion. Presents a variety of clinical changes in the postmenopausal period, considers the possibility of using alternative herbal preparations in order to reduce these symptoms and treat women with arterial hypertension in the menopause, as well as in women who categorically refuse to take menopausal sex steroids, and in patients who use menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) is absolutely contraindicated. The data on the drug extract of cimicifuga (BNO 1055), which is an alternative to MHT and at the same time effective therapy that does not have a negative effect on organs and systems, are presented.
Conclusions. The extract of rhizomes of Cimicifuga is an effective and safe phytopreparation that can be used as replacement therapy both during pre- and menopause and to improve the quality of life of women in the complex therapy of arterial hypertension.
