ACHIEVEMENTS AND MAIN INDICATORS OF PALLIATIVE CARE AND MOBILE TEAM FOR ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS OF TURKESTAN REGION

Abstract

Introduction. Palliative care in oncology is "a complex of medical measures aimed at getting rid of pain syndrome and alleviating complications of the oncological process, in order to improve the quality of life of severe cancer patients".
Goal. To analyze the state and availability of palliative care today and the state and development of this service in the Turkestan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Material and methods. Search in electronic databases, including PubMed, Web of Science with a search depth of 7 years on key aspects. Analytical study of the activities of oncological and palliative services, taking into account the activities of outpatient medical organizations, inpatient services, as well as the activities of mobile teams.
Results. Attention is paid in the article to the issues of the regulatory framework regulating the provision of palliative care and the use of narcotic painkillers.
Discussion. The incidence of oncopathology is increasing all over the world, including in Kazakhstan. Accordingly, the number of patients in need of palliative care in the Turkestan region is increasing in 2023. In the first half of the year, the number of severe patients in need of palliative care amounted to 150 patients. For 6 months of 2023, the number of mobile team visits amounted to 1,394 to serve 150 severe cancer patients.
Conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis of the state and availability of palliative care, it can be concluded that, despite the considerable attention to palliative care in Kazakhstan, the issue of its physical accessibility is still very relevant.
