Abstract

Relevance. snoring is observed in 20.5% of the population and in 95% of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA), and OSA occurs in 5-7% of the world's population as a whole. Primary snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome leads to diseases of internal organs. OSA is considered a significantly underestimated disease, despite its prevalence. PHC doctors play a crucial role in identifying patients with OSA. Now there are several simple methods of diagnosing OSA, one of which is conducting a STOP-Bang survey.
Objective. To conduct a questionnaire on the STOP-Bang scale of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and introduce the scale into use at the polyclinic level.
Material and methods. A survey was conducted at the Asfendiyarov University Clinic among patients aged 16 to 50 years.
Research results. The study involved 62 women and 38 men. According to the age characteristics of the surveyed patients, the number of patients aged 16-20 years was 59, aged 21-30 years – 36, aged 31-40 years – 2, aged 41-50 years – 3.
Discussion of the results. The study showed that in the surveyed patients, the frequency of sleep apnea with snoring was 14%, the frequency of snoring was 17%, and daytime fatigue occurs in 69% of patients.
Conclusion. OSA is considered a socially significant disease in terms of maintaining and improving the health of the population. The STOP-Bang scale should be recommended for use at the polyclinic level.
