ENDOCRINE “MASKS” FOR MALIGNANT TRAINS OF THE BRAIN (сlinical cases)

Abstract

Introduction. Malignant brain tumors in children can cause a state of panhypopituitarism, which is associated with a decrease in the function of the pituitary gland/hypothalamus, resulting in a deficiency of one or more tropic hormones. Clinical manifestations of panhypopituitarism depend on the deficiency of one or another pituitary hormone. Treatment for panhypopituitarism includes combined hormone replacement therapy.
Purpose of the study. Conducting an analysis of endocrine manifestations in children and identifying primary symptoms of “alertness” from specialized doctors for timely diagnosis of “life-threatening conditions” such as malignant neoplasms of the brain.
Material and methods. Analysis of the medical history of a child diagnosed with pineoblastoma with concomitant endocrine conditions.
Results. With adequate combination therapy in the postoperative period, target hormonal levels can be achieved in children.
The discussion of the results. Timely correction of hormonal disorders and dynamic monitoring contribute to achieving target indicators of physical development and improving the quality of life in children, along with the main therapy of cancer.
Conclusion. Based on the results of the analysis, in children with complaints from the visual organs in combination with endocrine disorders, it is necessary to carry out targeted “topical” diagnostics for malignant neoplasms of the brain.
